General terms

Ufone’s cellular mobile services may be subject to Federal and/or provincial and territorial taxes, depending on the location of the customer. There are two applicable taxes:

Advance Income Tax (AIT) Under Section 236 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, Ufone has been designated to collect AIT from its customers. AIT is collected on all modes of receipts and billings, unless exempt under the law.

Service Tax (GST): Federal Excise Duty or provincial/territorial sales taxes may apply to Ufone’s different services.

The following taxes at written rates will be applied:

Advance income tax on Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad Capital Territory, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) - excluding tribal areas, Balochistan - excluding tribal areas and Azad Jammu & Kashmir related to Prepaid Balance Recharge, and postpaid bills is 12.5%.
Advance income tax on Balochistan Tribal Areas (PATA-Balochistan), Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), KPK Tribal Areas (PATA-KPK) and Gilgit-Baltistan related to Prepaid Balance Recharge, and postpaid bills are 0%.
General Sales Tax on Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) - excluding tribal areas, Balochistan - excluding tribal areas, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Balochistan Tribal Areas (PATA-Balochistan) related to Voice, Texts, VAS,Service & Maintenance Charges, Call Setup Charges, line rent and internet/Data services is 19.5%.
General Sales Tax on Islamabad Capital Territory related to Voice, Texts, VAS,Service & Maintenance Charges, Call Setup Charges, and line rent is 17%.
General Sales Tax on Islamabad Capital Territory related to Internet/Data services is 0%.
General Sales Tax on Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), KPK Tribal Areas (PATA-KPK) and Gilgit-Baltistan related to Voice, Texts, VAS, Service & Maintenance Charges, Call Setup Charges, line rent and internet/Data services is 0 %.

* Monthly exemption from application of Sindh sales tax to data services is available, up to Rs. 1,500 for speeds up to 2 Mbps, and up to Rs. 2,500 for speeds from 2 Mbps to 4 Mbps.
